FAQs about Nauti Cat Urbanna, Virginia

Nauti Cat FAQs:

We answer some of our guests most frequently asked questions here. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us anytime.

What should I bring?

Depending on the weather and time of the year, we may have time for a swim or water activity so bring your swimsuit (we have towels). If it is later in the year, beyond summer, a light jacket or sweatshirt/sweater is always nice to have, but most importantly, bring sunscreen and a hat to protect from the sun, even on cloudy days.

What about shoes?

Non-marking rubber soled deck shoes are the safest shoes for boats. Open toe shoes and heels are not recommended.

Will we be able to sail?

Sailing is always weather and wind dependent. Captain Steve is a master at reading the winds and positioning the vessel to catch the wind. Your experience on Nauti Cat will be wonderful whether we are sailing, motor-sailing, or motoring.

What about the weather?

Weather can change quickly on the Chesapeake Bay and rivers, and our guests’ safety is top priority. We will not go out in heavy rain, thick fog, high winds, or any threatening weather conditions.

We will sail in cloudy, cool or overcast conditions...including on and off sprinkles.

We always monitor the radar. If the weather looks questionable, we will cancel the trip and notify you as soon as possible.

If we cancel your sail due to adverse weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund; reschedule for another day; or receive a gift certificate for a future excursion. The final decision to sail resides with Captain Steve.

If you have booked a charter and chose to cancel for any reason, including weather, please refer to our cancellation policy. We have had many enjoyable trips in less than spectacular conditions, so we think our policy is fair and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

What about seasickness?

Seasickness can occur for a variety of reasons, but the catamaran design provides a gentler motion and a more pleasurable sailing environment. The motion of our yacht is very easy, and we are never far from land. If you are in doubt about seasickness, you may want to consider purchasing motion sickness/seasickness medicine (usually taken in advance of trip) at your pharmacy.

Are there electrical and USB ports on board if I need to charge devices?

Yes, we have electrical outlets and USB ports on board. You will need to provide your own power cord.

Can we play music?

Yes, we have our own playlist, or you can connect your device via Bluetooth if you have music you would like to play.

What about dietary restrictions?

Please let us know in advance if there are any allergies and/or dietary restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do we need to tip?

A gratuity is never expected but appreciated if you enjoyed your experience!
